Admission Process and Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. Nursing and GNM Programs in Vikash Nursing College

For B.Sc. Nursing

The B.Sc. Nursing program is a 4-years undergraduate course designed for students interested in a career in Nursing and Healthcare.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have completed their 10+2 Education with Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and English as core subjects. A minimum of 45% aggregate marks is required for General and OBC Category students, while students belong to SC and ST category may have a relaxation 5% i.e., 40% in aggregate according to state government guidelines. Candidates must be at least 17 years old by 31st December of the year of admission.

Admission Process:

Admissions are purely based on Entrance Exam conducted by the regulatory body fixed by Govt. of Odisha from time to time. Candidates need to apply through the official portal of the Directorate of Nursing, Odisha. After qualifying the Entrance Exam, selected candidates are called for counselling, where they can select their preferred colleges based on their rank or score.

For General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

The GNM program is a 3-year diploma course for students aiming to become general nurses and midwives.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates should have completed 10+2 in any stream with a minimum aggregate score of 40% (for General and OBC/SEBC category) and 35% (for SC and ST category). For ANM pass out Students there is no percentage bar in 10+2 Examination for admission into GNM Course. The age requirement is in between 17 and 35 years as on 31st December of the Year of Admission.
Admission Process:
GNM Admissions are typically merit-based, considering the marks obtained in 10+2 Examination. Interested candidates must apply through the official nursing directorate. Shortlisted candidates are invited for counselling sessions, where they finalize admission based on seat availability and personal preference.
